As the eighth grade readies to self-publish an anthology of short stories about the future, it's important we first thank you for completing the permission slip and allowing participation in the project and for offering your time and expertise in speaking with the eighth grade about the writing/publishing process. I'll contact those who offered within the next week to schedule a day/time to come in. Thank you again!
Preparations have already begun for the anthology. We now have a theme (future), a title (Today's Tomorrow) and the various groupings to put everything together. We've also discussed character traits and types of characters and the process of creating and developing fictional characters (building a working history for each character). This is all work that should be completed at home, as we'll start discussions on plot and structure this week. I'll try to update progress often.

About the Teacher
Mr. Hakim earned a Bachelor of Arts degree (English major, Film Studies minors) and a Master of Arts in Teaching degree (English and Speech) from Wayne State University. He started teaching in 2013-14 and taught for two years at St. Paul Catholic School prior to coming to SJA.
