Thought I'd share this in the lead-up to today's MSU-OSU game. Teams have started using these hype trailers for each game, and OSU's are among the best of them.

About the Teacher

Mr. Hakim earned a Bachelor of Arts degree (English major, Film Studies minors) and a Master of Arts in Teaching degree (English and Speech) from Wayne State University. He started teaching in 2013-14 and taught for two years at St. Paul Catholic School prior to coming to SJA.

Before getting into teaching, Mr. Hakim worked as a journalist for nine years, six as a freelance sports writer with The Detroit News and three years as the education reporter at The Grosse Pointe News. During his time at The Detroit News, Mr. Hakim provided coverage of various high school athletic events, as well as multiple professional events. He worked such events as the NBA Playoffs, Detroit Lions Thanksgiving Day game, Motor City Open Squash Tournament, 2009 NCAA Basketball Hall of Fame Induction Press Conference, and Michigan Wolverines football.

At The Grosse Pointe News, he reported on the goings-on at all Grosse Pointe-area schools — public, independent and parochial schools.

Mr. Hakim is a proud graduate of St. Joan of Arc (Class of 1999) and is excited to be back at his alma mater in a teaching role. He has also coaches basketball and track at SJA and St. Paul.
